About
I am an artist from right outside of Boston, Massachusettes. My work is born from an experimental, nonlinear process that is rooted in the exploration of intuition and imagination. I approach painting as an exercise that favors an unknown destination. Central to my practice are the themes of femininity, nature, and the animal world—concepts that I explore not as separate entities but as interwoven forces that speak to one another. Through my work, I aim to highlight the inherent connections between these realms.
Nature, in all its forms, inspires my work infinitely. I find a deep resonance in the earth's textures, colors, and rhythms, from the vibrancy of wild flora to the tactile surfaces of stone and bark. The creatures that inhabit our world hold a profound beauty that fuels my creativity. Many of my paintings are born from the vivid imagery of my dreams, where anthropomorphic animals and symbolic visions emerge, guiding me toward new ways of thinking and creating.
My work is an ongoing cycle of construction and destruction. Each piece undergoes multiple layers of painting, with at least three reworkings before it reaches its final form. This process of reworking and erasure allows me to embrace the unpredictability of my work. The act of revisiting and transforming a painting is essential to my exploration of imperfection and growth—something I consider a vital part of the artistic experience.
The moment I feel a sense of ease or predictability with a subject, material, or technique, I challenge myself to step beyond it, embracing new challenges and untapped avenues. I aim to remain open, constantly evolving, and receptive to the unexpected, letting each painting evolve in its own time and rhythm.
My work reflects the interplay between the physical and the imaginative, the tangible and the spiritual, and the animal and the human. Through painting, I seek to create spaces where these boundaries blur.
